The Traffic Injury Prevention Project will be holding a National Child Passenger Safety Technician Course scheduled at the Northern EMS, 1620 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA. 9am to 5pm daily, Monday, Nov 6 – Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. You must attend all four days to complete the course.
Notes to students and businesses/agencies assigning personnel to attend the course:
First, this course provides classroom instruction and installing car seats in vehicles. This requires some physical effort such as pulling on seatbelts, bending and climbing in vehicles and working with many types of car seats. Please keep this in mind when assigning or asking staff to participate. If anyone has concerns about their abilities to complete the course, please contact the lead instructor Cathy Connors at Kelly Whitaker email@example.com or 814-943-3360 to address them.
Second, each student/future technician should manage his or her own account. If registering other staff please make sure, the student's current email address is listed and that they know how to get in to their account. All correspondence for the course details and future CEU opportunities will be through email and through their account.
To register for the course and pay the $80.00 fee:
1. Go to http://www.safekids.org/certification/ and click on “Find a Course”.
2. Enter the Course ID PA20170523581 in “course search”. Click "Submit".
3. Follow the prompts to select and register for the course. If you have any trouble or have questions on how to make payment, please call Safe Kids Worldwide's number listed for help and assistance. 1-877-366-8154.
Closer to the course (about 2-4 weeks) you will receive an email with details of the course and its location. Please check your email as this will be how information is provided. Please contact Kelly Whitaker at 814-943-3360 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions in the meantime on the location or details of the training.
Remember all questions regarding payment or your Safe Kids Account must be addressed through them.
Upon completion of the course, you will become a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Technician! You will be skilled in helping families in your community to install their child safety seats properly. More information on the benefits of being a child passenger safety technician is available on the Safe Kids Certification page.
